Pennant - knowledge engineering studio

Launched July 29, 2026

About GitHub

Pennant is a knowledge‑engineering studio hosted on GitHub that lets users build structured knowledge models as layered typed nodes linked by typed relationships. Users can define claims, obligations, evidence, and rules within a graph, run checks against the graph, and export the results. AI assistance is optional and provides suggestion buttons, while the core editing and analysis are deterministic arithmetic over the typed data.

Capabilities

Structured Knowledge Modeling

Create domain or document models composed of typed nodes and relationships, turning prose into an explicit, checkable graph.

Graph‑Based Claim Checking

Run analyzers that evaluate claims, obligations, evidence, and rule contradictions directly on the knowledge graph.

Optional AI Assistance

Enable AI‑driven suggestion buttons for drafting nodes or relationships; AI is off by default and never makes silent edits.

Versioned Collaboration

Leverage GitHub’s repository features—issues, pull requests, actions, and Codespaces—to collaborate and track changes to knowledge models.

Export and Integration

Export graphs, checks, and ordered data for downstream use; integrate with external tools via the MCP Registry.

Use Cases

  • Compliance Documentation

Model regulations, obligations, and deadlines as graph nodes to automatically verify compliance and generate audit‑ready reports.

    For: Legal and compliance teams

  • Enterprise Knowledge Management

Capture institutional knowledge in a structured, queryable format that can be version‑controlled and reviewed by multiple stakeholders.

For: Knowledge engineers and corporate data teams

  • AI‑Assisted Knowledge Capture

Use optional AI suggestions to expedite the authoring of complex knowledge graphs while retaining full manual control over the final structure.

    For: Developers and subject‑matter experts

  • Open‑Source Knowledge Projects

Collaborate on public repositories, manage contributions via issues and pull requests, and ensure model integrity through automated checks.

    For: Open‑source contributors and maintainers
