About Backdrop: Visual Memory
Backdrop is a field notebook for designers who shoot on site. It lets you capture materials, finishes, spaces and the reasons they caught your eye. By tapping the camera, the app reads what you point at, stores the image with voice notes, then automatically organizes everything into searchable topics. You can ask plain‑language questions and get answers drawn directly from your own captures. Data stays private, with no automatic syncing or sharing.
Pricing

Capabilities
Visual capture with contextual tagging
Tap the camera to point at a material or detail; the app records the image and lets you add spoken notes describing finishes, prices, or client comments.
Automatic organization into topics
All captures are grouped into topics that form short, cited pages generated from your own content.
AI‑powered natural‑language search
Ask plain‑language questions and receive answers sourced from your stored images and notes, with each answer cited back to the original capture.
Private, offline‑first storage
Nothing is uploaded or synced by default; your shelf remains private unless you choose to share.
One‑click shelf creation
Start a new shelf for a project, keeping all related references in a single, searchable place without manual filing.
