Your grandma now lives in the MacBook notch. She has opinions about how you're sitting. Abuela is a tiny on‑device posture coach for Mac users. It watches through the built‑in camera, uses Apple’s Vision models to measure head‑over‑shoulder alignment, shoulder levelness, forward lean and head tilt, and gives real‑time animated alerts that encourage you to sit upright. A quick 3‑second calibration sets a personal baseline, and a dashboard in the notch shows upright, drifting and slouching time over various periods. All processing is local with no data collection.

Capabilities

On‑device posture monitoring

Uses the Mac’s camera and Apple Vision models to track head‑over‑shoulder alignment, shoulder levelness, forward lean, and head tilt without sending data anywhere.

Private‑by‑design operation

All processing occurs locally; no accounts, analytics, or network communication, and the camera turns off when paused.

Mac notch integration

Places the coach at the top of the MacBook notch and also works on other displays.

macOS 14+ compatibility

Runs on Macs with Apple M1 chip or later and requires macOS 14.0 or newer.
